This Privacy Policy describes how Simplr Accounting ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information through the Simplr Accounting Console (the "Application"), our private internal tool that connects to clients' QuickBooks Online companies.
When a client authorizes the Application through Intuit's OAuth consent process, the Application can access the accounting data of that client's QuickBooks Online company: chart of accounts, customers and suppliers, transactions (invoices, bills, payments, expenses, journal entries), attachments, sales tax information, company information, and financial reports. We may also receive the name and email address of the person who authorized the connection (via OpenID Connect).
Exclusively to provide the bookkeeping and accounting services the client has engaged us to perform — recording and categorizing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing sales tax filings, and producing financial reports.
Authorization tokens and any working copies of accounting data are stored on secured, access-controlled equipment operated by our firm in Canada. Data in transit between the Application and Intuit's servers is always encrypted (TLS/HTTPS). Access credentials are never published or shared.
Working files are kept only as long as needed to provide our services and to meet professional and legal record-keeping obligations applicable to accounting records in Canada. Authorization tokens are deleted when a client disconnects.
Clients can disconnect the Application at any time from QuickBooks Online (Apps → My Apps) or by emailing support@simplraccounting.com. Disconnection immediately invalidates the Application's access tokens.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC PIPA), clients may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold. Contact us at the address below.
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be available at this address.
